I like the one about Zolly the singer from Ignite being a total germ a phobe, and after they would play sometimes he would take rubbing alcohol and wash his arms/hands with it.

haha

Greg got into a one on one fight with another member of the mongoloids. im sick of people saying he got jumped. ask greg and hell tell you the truth himself.

dms showing up at a frat party blah blah blah

untrue it was a Second To None nj bloodline homeless benefit show, 96-97, madball came to kick it with us and Fury of Five dudes. after the show it turned into a frat party. we were all hanging and partying. me and _ _ _ _ _ were waiting for the bathroom and dude totally cuts us and disses homeboy to his face. We went downstairs and _ _ _ _ _ finds the dude and "talks to him about cutting him in line and disrespecting him" his fratboys obviously thought they were tough as shit, then _ _ _ _ says lets "set it off" and weall definitely did. Great night, great story to talk about over blunts

a member of Empire Falls (NC band that did a split with OLC) getting his head smashed with a rock by some NC straight edge dude(s).

shitty rise records band vs johnson city

The guy from Empire Falls is such a shit head scumbag, he's going by the name "Brian Scorch" now a days, and that dude brings a sketch factor of 10, and the straight edge revenge wouldn't be the first time he's had his face smashed in. Dude sucks hard.

Joe None is also one of my favorite posters on this board just because of the stories he has and the knowledge he drops.

Curious to hear more about this one, I've never heard this at all. Assume you're referring to "mean pete" from until the end/rn/etc.?

pete mentioned to someone during a heated argument that he was CC. at a show up north, CC guys beat him up on stage. bishop canceled the rest of the tour, and the bands that were on the tour with them caught the shit end of the stick and dealt with the bishop fiasco. bishop dropped the x's from their name and stopped touring afterward.

earlier on this same tour some seventh dagger band tried fighting them in SLC. kids were moshing into the merch tables, and someone behind the bishop table began yelling "MERCH MOSH! MERCH MOSH!". the other bands didn't find it funny and a little squabble ensued.

I witnessed it all in person. This story is twisted. CYJ had no involvement in the SLC/xBishopx fight with the exception of Blake breaking it up. xBishopx were being douchey and disrespectful to kids at the show. Not a good a idea in a place like SLC... Their merch table got flipped. Afterward when the bands were loading up, a couple guys at the show confronted them and called them out on some shit. They got pretty sassy on the defense. Once again, not such a good idea in a place like SLC. They got beat up, they called the cops, someone had to get some stitches and I think there was a broken nose too. Blake and Pete had a pretty long talk after the incident to make sure there were no misunderstandings and whatnot.

Fast forward the next day when CYJ played with them in Denver... The drummer for Red Baron/guitarist for xBishopx who I saw tip toeing out of the confrontation in SLC built up enough courage to flip over CYJ's merch and yelled "merch mosh." A heated verbal confrontation took place but no actual fight. They were reminded that CYJ had no involvement in the previous night's fight. A few days later CYJ got an E-apology from The Red Baron.

But rumors managed to spread on the internet pretty fast saying stuff like "CYJ beat the shit out of xBishopx in SLC" and whatnot talking about drama that doesn't exist. They got beat up by normal show goers. Shit like that just happens when you go into a relatively violent scene and act out of line.

love SLC

Thanx

Ill add to the Arkangel story, i feel kinda bad now as of last year the singer came up to me and apoligized and all this shit, and hooked me up with mad merch. turns out hes an ok dude.

rewind to 2001. the old bass player from shattered realm and joe from warmachine were booking shows in north nj. they loved arkangel and wanted to book them. they brought another band with them, at this time i cant remember who they were. but they showed up unannounced and wanted to play. it was the same exact dudes from arkangel just another band. so a week before the show they write Joe warmachine an email saying that they want another $400 on top of their already $400 garuntee since 2 bands were playing. keep in mind that this other band wasnt asked they just wanted on. so the singer was writing these emails that says "we heard about nj and your crew out there, but maybe you guys should start asking around about ours" and shit like that. basically saying give us $800 or else. we told them to just be lucky we agreed to let the other band play, and we actually intended of giving them an extra 100 to bring it up to a total of $500, for honestly 1 band noone knew or gave a fuck about, and arkangel. who was good but on their first us tour.
on top of this all the rumors about them breaking edge and shit were flying rampid and of the dude beating up girls. one of our sxe boys brought all these signs talking shit to them. each sign was like 4 foot by 4 foot, saying all this crazy shit.
about 15 seconds into their first song dude walks up to my boy and kicks the sign out of his hand and kicks him in the face. we all rushed the stage and beat the shit out of them.
that was their first day of tour, that night they stayed with some friends of ours out in philly, and totally trashed his house. this dude was driving them around and giving them a place to stay. we basically showed up the next night, wouldnt let them play, bought them a couple pizzas, and gave them some taxi money, to show them we werent total cocksuckers and left them stranded in the middle of kensington. their 3 week tour lasted 2 days.
BOOM ROASTED

sorry for the typos, i broke my hand. obviously it wasnt from fighting

first time we (shattered realm) played SLC it was with Bleeding through and bad luck 13. Salt Blake told me they were going to dance with knives and hatchets while SR played. He wasnt kidding, he cut almost his whole hand off with a cleaver 3 songs into our set. jumps onstage, grabs our duck tape, tapes his hand together, and finishes moshing

plus SLC dude put us up mad times and really helped us out when we broke down out there.

i too

I don't listen to mosh metal or care about stories coming about SLC, either. It's stupid to complain about something like that on a message board. If their scene has no effect on you, then why do you care what they do?

Can't see this one. Cigarettes? For real? No way on Scace, but I've definitely smoked weed with Greg after they played. But really who cares? Band is done and no one is hiding the edge thing.

More stories about people getting beat up and sketchy business please.

The Biohazard "American White Power Skinheads" demo tape.

Doesn't exist. The demo in question is called "the orange demo". The song in question is called "America". The explanation: Biohazard were huge Carnivore fans. The lyrics to America were written in a metaphorical sense and for shock value. The idea being that if Amereican kids united together "like" the nazi's they could take over the "world' (scene). Pretty bad metaphor, even poorer execution. Kind of hard to be white power/nazi with a Jewish bassist/singer.

the demo exists. yeah it was supposed to be edgy or whatever they say now but it exists and the lyrics are sketchy. i love biohazard but call a spade a spade.

Learn to read. The demo as you titled it "American White Power Skinheads" does not exist. There is no such demo with that name. The demo is CALLED the "orange demo". I'm not saying that the demo with those songs doesn't exist, just that the name is completely wrong.

Not sure if they still have it, but www.pure-impact.com used to sell a 2 hour dvd of this show.

I wish I had a copy of the YDL dvd that was supposed to come out, this thread needs footage of Freddy Madball singing along to Voice of Brooklyn.

Reason why AF thanked the Bully Boys on Victim in Pain (?)

"We've played in some really weird places, though. This one place in Texas was in someone's garage. They set out all this food, and on the table was all this watermelon. I love watermelon so much, and I just started eating the watermelon like crazy. So I started talking to the woman who ran the place and I told her how much I liked the watermelon. She said, "Yeah, we put it out to see who the real niggers are." That kind of shit happened in Texas. We were getting ready to play and all these, what they call confederate skins showed up. Hammer Skins, I guess. Talk about thick. Maybe about 30 of the people there weren't in this gang. What saved us was this big Confederate Skin who used to be in a band called BULLY BOYS who used to be like us, who turned into Nazis. He saved us from a major ass kicking."

Mean Pete vs. Courage Crew.

Shit like that just happens when you go into a relatively violent scene and act out of line.

salt lake city needs a bomb dropped on it. fuck, every time i read or anything about this place it makes me hate hardcore/the world. It seems like almost ever needs to drop out of hardcore and watch the ufc at there frat houses.

post about it, faggot.

i guess if i was into shit moshmetal/straight edge bands i would think the stories coming out of slc were cool.
i guess not being a tough guy makes me a faggot. oh well.

Salt Lake is like an alternate reality for hardcore. I've seen Mental, Justice, Lion of Judah, Blacklisted, Modern Life is War, Blacklisted etc out there, all when they were in their absolute prime, and they went over like lead balloons. Kids just scratching their heads and standing there looking confused. Then a shitty band like xDEATHSTARx plays and kids are going fucking crazy. Gaged ears flopping around...bunch of dudes with Castro hats and Dumbo ears...shit was unreal. It's just another world...I mean, it's whatever. I totally understand that people have different tastes...it's just so weird how it's like so insulated. Not as many bands make it out there and so sometimes it seriously just feels like it's stuck in the mid-late 90s. Not trying to dis because I've met quite a few cool people from the SLC/Ogden area. Hardcore is just totally different on the East.

I go to school out here and there are some decent bands. Reviver being one of them. It's just annoying trying to get shit started out here. My friends and I play in a fast hardcore band and it's not like I'm bitching because people aren't into it...they have their right not to be...it just blows my mind sometimes how Salt Lake kids really really worship the chug stuff (painting with a broad brush I know) it can be frustrating.

That and, as cool as some of the kids and promoters are, there are a lot of shitty stories from SLC and that's just a bummer all around.

What about that show with Donnybrook in AZ?

Yeah. I think it talks about it in "Our band could be your life" and "American Hardcore: a Tribal History."

You can tell on the recording that it was done over a telephone.

You can also hear Roger from A.F. giving a shoutout to Minus' "crucial underwear mosh" on the Last Warning live cd. Paul Bearer did the same thing when I first saw ST in 1990, he stripped down to his boxers within the first 2 songs, and performed the rest of the set that way. I have pics to prove this, which I have already posted a million times before

Can't see this one. Cigarettes? For real? No way on Scace, but I've definitely smoked weed with Greg after they played. But really who cares? Band is done and no one is hiding the edge thing.

More stories about people getting beat up and sketchy business please.

DJF nor Scace broke edge then or ever. Greg and Dookie probably smoked cigs since both their roadies smoked cigs.

Not sure if this has been asked, but

I wonder if Ray Chaos actually took a promoter and his girlfriend to a hotel, tied them up, and threatened them with violence when the promoter was not able to meet the touring package's guarantee. Supposedly the promoter had to sell his car.

Also, I heard some rumor about Ray chasing some guy to his car. The dude got in his car and locked the doors. And then Ray used a hammer to break the window out.

I find it all really far fetched because Ray has always seemed like a nice enough guy.

this reminded me of another old OBHC story. A member of the same nazi gang from those b9-famous pics came to a show at a club (Bombshelter) we used to run. he started talking shit to the doorgirl, who happened to be the girlfriend of Ernie from Powerhouse. Someone went to get Ern and the nazi took off. He realized he had fucked up and ran to his car, locking all the doors. Ernie walked across the street, punched through the car window, and pulled the guy out. A beating followed.

There were a few Bombshelter stories. We were throwing some nazis out one night, forcefully. I believe this was the time that one of the nazis pulled a knife on an OBHC member, who laughed and pulled a pistol from his under his shirt. Anyhow, as we are running these fucks off, Psycho Mike OBHC jumps out of a shadow and clocks one in the head with a baseball bat. The problem was, Mike hit an innocent bystander who was coming to the show, not a nazi. The guy was really bummed. not because he got hit in the head with a bat, but because all the blood from his dome ruined his brand new jacket. Ernie made Mike apologize to the guy and give him his own jacket.

That place was nuts. Deep in the worst part of Oakland. We finally had to shut down when the homeless guy who robbed the club killed the drug dealer who robbed us another time and left his body at our door. The drug dealer used to drive around the neighborhood with a police light (the red spinning type) on his dashboard, pull people over, and rob them.

The club used to be a chop shop, and the "backstage" was a spray room in the back. Some punk band played one night and decided to smash bottles all over the room. Four of us went in, locked the door, and served them. I had brass knuckles on and swang at one guy, but he got hit by someone else and spun around, so i connected with the back of his head. A huge chunk of scalp came off and stuck to the metal wall, then slid down. I believe Hatebreed or Despair was playing as we carried these mangled fuckers pouring blood through the crowd platoon-style to get them out the front door.

Someone blew a car up in front once. It was a massive explosion, huge fireball into the sky, all that.

That's all I can think of right now.
